Fed: Flood waters receding in Aceh, 29 confirmed dead

The Red Cross says flood waters in eastern Aceh are receding and people are beginning
to return to their towns.

The aid agency says there have been 29 confirmed deaths in Banda Aceh with another
32 people missing.

Close to 90 per cent of the Aceh Tamiang district is flooded .. with 112 houses completely
destroyed.

Water levels are reported to be two metres high in some areas.

The Red Cross says many of the 140 thousand people who were forced to flee their homes
from the flooding on Saturday are now living in camps.

Red Cross volunteers have distributed hundreds of tarpaulins .. blankets and jerry
cans to victims.
