NSW: Two charged over bungled break and enter
SYDNEY, Feb 19 AAP - A car was driven into a service station window and a petrol bowserruptured during a bungled break and enter in Sydney's north overnight, police said.
Officers on patrol at Eastern Valley Way, Roseville, noticed a car had been driventhrough the window of the service station shortly before midnight, police said in a statementtoday.
As the officers approached, three men attempted to flee in a Subaru Liberty which hadearlier been reported stolen.
The car struck and ruptured a petrol bowser as it reversed, and the three then attemptedto flee on foot, police said.
Officers managed to catch two of the three suspects, charging a 27-year-old Glebe manand a 24-year-old St Peters man with aggravated break and enter, possessing house breakingimplements, take and drive conveyance, and larceny.
The older man was also charged with two driving offences.
Eastern Valley Way was closed to traffic for more than two hours because of the dangerthe damaged petrol bowser posed.
